Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: The Axe from the Lake Walkthrough

The side activity "The Axe from the Lake" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is presented in the journal as a task. If you don't know how to start this quest or where to find the axe, our guide will provide all the necessary information.

If you've been to the blacksmith in Tachov, you should have visited the tavern. During the day, you can find the laborer Zdenek there, who tells various tall tales. To get him talking, you can pass a skill check, pay 25 groschen, or give him any drink (even the cheapest one will do).

When the man asks which story you'd like to hear, choose "Something scary." Zdenek will tell about two woodcutters who once lived in these parts. Always choose the first response option to increase your reputation.

Before setting out to find the axe, be sure to take a shovel with you. You can purchase it from merchants or steal it from almost any house. For example, we borrowed the gravedigger's shovel for eternal use at the cemetery (you can find it east of Troskovice).

A large area will be highlighted on the map where you can find the axe, but first, you need to reach the pier on the lake. This is where one of the brothers started his journey from the lake.

Upon reaching the spot, turn around and follow the path uphill. The first landmark will be the rocks through which the path stretches.

A bit further up, Henry will notice an old oak tree, which the laborer also mentioned.

Continue following the path forward. A large boulder will appear on the left. Walk a bit further and turn left. An old grave will be visible on the slope.

Examine the grave and take the broken shield, silver ring with a gem, and broken axe.

To forge the axe blade, return to the blacksmith in Tachov. First, interact with the anvil and check what materials are needed to craft the blade. Buy the necessary ingredients from Radovan and start forging.
