WWE WrestleMania X8 — Uses a simple grappling system. Each wrestler has 5 front holds, 5 back holds, and various holds such as a dodge and a grab where the wrestler dodges and then performs a grab or throw. The match has counters based on the color of the participants, and victory is possible when a player's counter is completely red and their opponent's counter is completely blue. Much of the gameplay revolves around counter moves, with different buttons countering different maneuvers and allowing for different reactions such as punching and grabbing. The game features a wide variety of signature moves used by wrestlers, and all wrestlers in the game have their own unique entrances. There are many types of weapons available in the game, as well as the ability to perform various grapples with them.
