Switch Galaxy Ultra is a futuristic arcade racing game in which the player travels across the galaxy collecting tantalum for Dakur Technology. At high speed, the player steers around obstacles and enemies, picks up boosts and other power-ups, and aims for record times on each level.
Completing levels earns credits that can be spent on new ships and upgrades. The game features 55 levels and a survival mode, where the challenge is to last as long as possible with a single life. Its story is accompanied by an episodic comic designed by Darren Douglas, a WipeOut concept artist; the cities were designed by series co-creator Jim Bowers.
