A turn-based tactical strategy game set in an alternate Middle Ages, where armies from different eras clash, from Vikings and Mongol cavalry to musketeers and crusaders. In Strategy & Tactics: Dark Ages, players command troops in scenarios involving civil wars, nomad invasions, pirate raids, and efforts to save a kingdom ravaged by plague.
The game features six factions and more than 50 types of squads based on historical troops. Battles are shaped by formations, generals’ abilities, terrain, and weather. Squads gain experience and develop skills as they survive, while their weapons and armor can be upgraded. Generals have randomly generated traits and abilities, and selected leaders can be kept for use in later campaigns.
