A side-scrolling action platformer set in an ancient castle follows a protagonist who resembles Death as he explores the seemingly abandoned fortress. As he makes his way through the castle, the story reveals what brought ruin to it and the surrounding kingdom.
The player fights colorful stained-glass creatures, solves puzzles, and uses weapons to shatter objects and alter events. The arrangement of glass shards affects which monsters appear, while defeated enemies can reassemble or form into different foes. Physics-based interactions and characters’ abilities shape how obstacles are overcome; puzzles include tangrams, and hooks let the protagonist slide along walls.
