An evolution simulator and sandbox about natural selection, Species: Artificial Life, Real Evolution models how creatures change through inherited genes, random mutations and environmental pressures. The player can observe a tree of life developing from a single species or intervene in the evolution and survival of its populations.
A nursery allows the gene pool to be adjusted, while rovers can determine which creatures get food. Global disasters, including an ice age or a flood, can also be triggered. Evolution can be studied through a clade diagram, a satellite map of species’ habitats, a visualization of genetic diversity and tools for inspecting individual creatures.
