A narrative survival game about growing up and leaving home, Soul Searching follows a character sailing away in a small boat through a world of islands, dragons, and magic. In the open world, players can visit islands to learn about their inhabitants, catch fish, find ghosts, discover spells, and customize their boats. The journey centers on peaceful survival amid dangerous sea creatures and vast oceans.
The single-player story mode leaves the route open, with no one correct path. A randomly generated mode for one to four local players is also available, requiring the group to gather resources and survive together. The game features a day-night cycle that subtly affects gameplay, along with character appearance customization.
