Son of a Witch is a role-playing action roguelike about a hero who enters a castle in pursuit of his kidnapped witch mother. In the dungeons, he fights enemies and searches for an ancient goblin artifact that has provoked attacks on the surrounding area.
The dungeons are procedurally generated and feature monster encounters, bosses, treasure rooms, shops, and challenge rooms. The hero uses weapons, magic items, spells, and potions, while completing NPC quests unlocks additional playable characters. The game supports solo play and co-op for up to four players. Alongside permadeath and a fresh run, an RPG mode preserves collected items and restarts only the last level.
