R-Type Dimensions is an arcade shooter in which players battle through 14 stages infested with the Bydo and confront the Bydo Empire, which threatens Earth. The classic R-Type gameplay remains intact, while the visuals can be switched on the fly between retro 2D graphics and reworked 3D graphics.
Alongside the standard playthrough, an Infinite mode offers continuous progression from the start of the game to the final boss. Both modes support solo play and local multiplayer, and the R-Type music tracks feature newly arranged versions.
