Last Wood is a survival colony simulation set in a post-apocalyptic ocean, where most continents have disappeared, leaving only small islands. The player guides a group of survivors as they build rafts and gather food and water at sea by fishing, collecting rainwater, and farming. Each survivor has distinct traits and skills, which can be developed alongside their relationships; the group can also have children.
Rafts can be equipped for travel between islands, where survivors search for resources and lost technology and explore the ruins of the old world and mysterious shrines. The colony faces threats from animals, raiders, and sea creatures, as well as storms and hail. Random events may bring new survivors to the group, and fishing can yield a treasure chest.
