Grand Theft Auto 2 is a continuation of the dynamic racing action with a top-down view in the open world. The events of the game take place in the near future, where you have to visit the metropolis of Anywhere City. You will create chaos in the person of Claude Speed, who will have to join one of the gangs and destroy competitors. To do this, you will be able to use a wide arsenal of various weapons and vehicles, each of which has its own characteristics and handling.

На смену трём городам — один, выбору персонажей — только один, но это всё едва ли можно назвать причинами, по которым и вторую часть не приняли с распростёртыми объятиями. Однако в игре было кое-что абсолютно новое, что в корне меняло геймплей. Только вот почему-то об этом успешно забывают. А ведь какую систему взаимоотношений с бандами добавили разработчики… Такую можно обкатать только во второй части — в последующих GTA все дружественные и вражеские отношения с группировками прописаны сюжетом. Сейчас с трудом можно представить себе подобное в современных частях, как, впрочем, и сеттинг будущего со всеми его футуристическими атрибутами.
