Pós-apocalíptico
O cenário de jogo pós-apocalíptico transporta o jogador para um mundo que sobreviveu a uma catástrofe global ou local (se o lugar estiver isolado). Durante esse evento, quase toda a população do mundo ou de uma localização específica pereceu. Os sobreviventes estabelecem suas novas ordens e leis. Todo o mundo é hostil para o jogador: entre os sobreviventes há hostis, as localizações estão cheias de monstros, e a própria Terra mudou e se encheu de armadilhas naturais (plantas carnívoras, radiação, emissões de energia, chuvas ácidas, etc.). Nesse mundo, os gamers são transportados por ações, shooters, jogos de RPG e seus híbridos.
