Arcade
Arcade é um gênero de videogames que utiliza mecânicas de jogo simples. Muitas vezes, pouca atenção é dada à trama e ao desenvolvimento de personagens. Os arcades são projetados para um entretenimento leve, sem se aprofundar na essência do que está acontecendo. O principal é o processo de jogo e sua simplicidade. Jogos de diferentes gêneros podem ser considerados arcades. Por exemplo, em corridas arcade, não há física realista, frequentemente são usadas armas, e ainda mais frequentemente, é possível coletar bônus nas pistas, enquanto o controle se resume a três botões: esquerda, direita e aceleração. Da mesma forma, o processo de jogo é simplificado em outros gêneros arcade.
