Fatal Fury is a fighting game centered on the King of Fighters tournament, hosted in the fictional city of South Town by crime boss Geese Howard. Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard and their friend Joe Higashi enter the competition to confront Geese and avenge the brothers’ father.
The player chooses one of the three fighters and faces opponents in matches decided by two wins. Combat takes place across two planes, the foreground and background, and fighters can move between them. Each character has special moves, while the single-player tournament also includes an arm-wrestling bonus minigame after every two matches.
