Ultima III: Exodus is a fantasy role-playing game about a threat to the world of Sosaria: Exodus, the offspring of Mondain and Minax, endangers its inhabitants. The player character sets out to defeat the antagonist and restore peace.
At the start, the player assembles a party of four, choosing each character’s race and class, which shape their combat, magical, and thieving abilities. The party travels through the world as a group, while turn-based battles place each character separately on a tactical field. Enemies on the overworld map can be spotted and temporarily avoided, but dungeon foes appear without warning.
