This space combat simulator follows the war between the Galactic Terran Alliance and the Shivans, a race that appears without warning and possesses technology far beyond humanity’s. The player takes the role of an Alliance pilot and fights enemy fighters and capital ships.
The single-player campaign features 30 branching missions, while multiplayer offers 20 more. Battles involve three species, each with distinct ships, tactics, strengths, and weaknesses. The FRED mission editor lets players create their own missions.
