A third-person shooter set during World War II, Brothers in Arms DS follows campaigns in Normandy, North Africa, and the Ardennes. Across 16 missions, players direct their squad with touch-screen and stylus controls; the camera follows the stylus while aiming. Combat features weapons such as bazookas, sniper rifles, and grenades, as well as vehicles including a reconnaissance car and a Sherman tank.
The game uses automatic cover behind walls and an automatically recovering health system. Multiplayer supports battles with up to four participants in several modes, including Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch.
