Asteroids 2600 — arcade space shooter released in November 1979 by Atari, Inc. and designed by Lyle Raines and Ed Logg. The player controls a spaceship in an asteroid field, which is periodically crossed by flying saucers. The goal of the game is to shoot and destroy asteroids and saucers without colliding with them or being hit back by the saucers. The game becomes more difficult as the number of asteroids increases.
