Armed to the Gears

In a dystopian future, a totalitarian regime has enslaved billions, while an underground group of engineers fights for freedom. In Armed to the Gears, the player controls a hacked combat robot and turns it against its makers, fighting in cities, military bases, and industrial ruins. The game combines a top-down shooter with tower defense: territories must be captured and defended, and turrets and other structures can be built.

The campaign spans eight missions, with waves of cyborgs, mutants, drones, robotic infantry, and giant mechs to defeat. Machine guns, lasers, plasma cannons, grenade launchers, and missiles are among the available weapons; new weapons, turrets, drones, and upgrades can be unlocked, and air support can be called in. Between missions, the base workshop lets the player buy parts, ammunition, and fuel for the mech. An endless wave-defense mode is also included.
