Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: So it begins Walkthrough

The main characters of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are surrounded by Praguers in the castle of Suchdol, but they do not intend to give up. We describe the detailed walkthrough of the quest So it begins and explain which response options will increase the protagonist's reputation.
Throw stones to stop the attack on the gates!
Climb onto the platform in front of the gates and take a halberd if you don't have one in your inventory. While the army approaches the fortress walls, shoot with a bow. When the first wave of enemies approaches the gates, use stones to quickly deal with them.
Knock down the ladders
After dealing with the first wave, you will see soldiers outside trying to bring ladders to the walls of the outer fortress. Shoot these soldiers to complete this task faster. You will need to knock down a total of five ladders. Start from any side, then clear the other and knock down the remaining ones.
Visit Musa and Katerina in the infirmary
Find the characters in the courtyard of the inner fortress and talk to them. You can thank Musa for the rescue to increase your reputation.
Visit Janos for food
Since the castle is under siege, all the food in your inventory will disappear. But you can go to the kitchen on the first floor and take some food from Janos the Hungarian.
Ask Frenzel about ammunition
Head to the forge in the outer courtyard. Captain Frenzel will be waiting here. After talking to him, you will receive an additional task — to sharpen two old swords. They lie on the table in front of the character, and the grinding wheel is located in the opposite part of the forge.
Go to the walls with Boguta
After the cutscene, Godwin will ask you not to contradict Jan Zizka, especially in front of Petr Pisetsky, as the latter may try to sow discord and negotiate with the Praguers.
In the dialogue with Zizka and Pisetsky, respond:
- Zizka must make the decision (increase in reputation).
- I'll do what I can (increase in reputation).
- (Leave).
Recruit old friends
Next, you need to recruit several soldiers. You can choose any fighters, this will not affect the plot. We chose old friends Idro from Skalitz, Shmuel and Kubenka, the butcher Wolfram, and Kozlik. They are all marked on the map, so you just need to reach each and talk to them:
- Old friends from Skalitz are playing dice in the outer courtyard.
- Shmuel and Kubenka are sitting in the kitchen.
- Butcher Wolfram is in the basement, the entrance is between two staircases to the house and the walls of the inner castle. Pass the persuasion check, wearing armor beforehand, or tell him "You can handle it."
- Kozlik is waiting on the upper wall of the tower.
Order your men to gather in the outer courtyard
If you have found all your friends, run to the outer courtyard and activate the dialogue with them. A skill check will appear, we chose "Persuasion" and passed it positively. When the squad asks for further orders, choose "You will go to reinforce the night watch". This will positively affect relations with Zizka, as the Praguers will attempt to attack the fortress the next night.
Finish patrolling the castle and go to rest
Just go to your room and end the day. At the door to your room, you will meet Ptachek. You can pass the scholarship check or choose "How are you?" > "You can handle it, I have no doubt" to increase your reputation.
Check the post on the eastern wall
At night, Indro will be awakened by Dry Devil. Go out into the inner courtyard and climb onto the wall of the inner fortress. If you pass through the armory, you will see a sleeping soldier. Approach him and hit him with your hand to wake him up. On the eastern wall, talk to Janos the Hungarian and head to the outer courtyard.
Don't let the enemy capture the gates! Knock down the ladders (0/2)
Once in the outer courtyard, turn left and run to the wall. Grab a halberd if you don't have such a weapon in your inventory, then interact with the "watchman," behind whom you can observe a whole group of Praguers. Kill him and let the other enemies pass, then quickly knock down the ladders. Usually, opponents do not linger on the wall and run to the center of the courtyard, so do not waste your strength on them, but deal with the ladders first.
Meet with the others and listen to orders
Interact with Zizka, who will be waiting for the hero in the outer courtyard. You can tell about Dry Devil's drunkenness, which led to this situation. If you previously reinforced the night watch, you will gain some reputation. This will conclude the quest.
